Let me introduce you to a concept that applies to any areas of your life. Career, relationships, friendship, anything! Why and how so?! Because if you want to change your life – and it doesn’t matter if that’s your job, your relationships or truly anything – you need to have the identity of the person who “already” lives that life.
To clarify… do you want to have enough money? Do want to be happily married? Do you want to have a successful career? Great, so what do you need to do and who do you need to be to have what you want? And that’s the question! We need to start with who we are! And if you don’t know who you are and what you want… well… and let’s be honest, most people really don’t know that! Then… no wonder you may be looking for solutions and you’re spinning in circles because you actually don’ t know where to start or what is your direction!
Let’s look into it…
Step 1: You need to know what you want.
Easy? Maybe not as much… Ask yourself that question right now. What do I want in life/career? And if you start saying: “Well, I don’t want X, I don’t want Y … “stop right there! See, you’re saying what you don’t want, but you need to look for what you do want! So try again… Once you get this right, continue on!
Step 2: Who do you need to be to have what you want?
And this question is also quite difficult… it goes much deeper than you think! Maybe you said: I don’t know!!! In that case, look around for examples. Look at the people you know have achieved what you want… study them, ask them, read their bios… whatever it takes… And that will lead you to the next step.
Step 3: Start behaving like them.
BE just like them… And with that comes DO the things they’re doing. So you can…
Step 4: HAVE what you want to have in life.
And that’s the foundation… on which you can build more… Is that going to be easy? Likely not… you’ll need consistency, self-integrity, focus and more, but… you don’t need to do it alone! This is just one of many tools I can offer you if you allow me to help you on your personal development journey.
